New Adventures for Women
Discover the World's Most Remarkable Destinations in the Company of Other Women
I just found out that Abercrombie & Kent is introducing six new journeys created specifically for women. It seems the number of women who want to share meaningful travel experiences with other women is increasing, so the company is offering trips with sightseeing and activities presented from a woman's perspective.
I haven't been on one of these trips yet myself, but they sound like they'd be perfect for a variety of travelers: Mothers and daughters who want to bond, sisters who want to spend quality time together, friends who long for a reunion, and like-minded people who want to learn about other cultures. All in the company of seasoned female guides.
The trips offer great cultural and educational experiences, too. For example, in Provence, you'll learn the art of perfume-blending. In Jaipur, henna painting. In Buenos Aires, you'll learn to dance the tango. And in Egypt, learn the art of bellydancing!
If you're a foodie, note that these trips include the culinary specialties in each region, such as a cooking lesson in Bordeaux and a tasting at a French artisanal chocolate workshop.
Ann Epting, Senior Vice President of Abercrombie & Kent, says, "These trips are also ideal for the solo traveler. For example, a married woman whose husband doesn't like to travel or doesn't have the time, or a single woman who is more comfortable traveling as part of an escorted group, but doesn't want to be the odd one out on a trip full of couples." As a person who travels solo frequently, I understand exactly what she means!
The first two women's trips offered this year are Highlights of Egypt and Wings over Botswana. If you're interested, I suggest you contact Abercrombie & Kent soon -- the first Botswana trip sold out almost immediately. A second Botswana departure has been added, and four more women's interest departures are to take place this fall: To China, India, France and Chile & Argentina.
Enjoy!
